POOL LEAKS

Even a seemingly minor leak can cause substantial damage to a swimming pool, resulting in major water and chemical loss and structural damage. A leak, say the size of a pinhole in a plumbing system with a 40 pound pressure can lose up to 3,500 litres of water in a 24 hour period. (This is roughly equivalent to filling 20 average size residential pools each year.)
Why bother fixing Leaks?
Adding water and chemicals costs money. If chemical loss is not attended to your pool balance will suffer leaving your pool vulnerable to algae or worse. Leaks left un-repaired can cause subsidence. Even shifts of a minor amount can cause serious straining and breakage to the plumbing system. Surrounding vegetation and house foundations can be effected. If a pool is cracked oxidizing chemicals can come into contact with the steel cage of the pool this can result in serious rusting.
Leaks will not go away they will only get worse!

- Brush walls and floor
- Add Algaecide _________Litres
- Run filter continuously until water clear
- When settled vacuum to waste. (NB: Pool must be full)
- Bring water sample to store for testing and balancing
Note: Some pools may require flocking to settle suspended particle prior to vacuum to waste. In extreme cases some pools may not be able to be chemically recovered and will require emptying and acid washing. Our consultants will assist in this regard.
